Datacap and Partners Plan Lance Armstrong and Tyler Hamilton Foundation Fundraising Event at AIIM
"Enhance Your Cycle Time" Challenge at AIIM to Determine Donation
Tarrytown, NY, -(April 19, 2005) – Datacap Inc. announced today that AIIM 2005, the annual conference for the Association of Image and Information Management, May 17-19, will be the site of a fundraising event to benefit the Lance Armstrong Foundation (LAF) and the Tyler Hamilton Foundation, two health-oriented foundations created by professional cyclists.
Fujitsu, FileNet, Canon, Stellent, Böwe Bell + Howell, IBML, Hyland OnBase, Vignette, Kofax, and Océ, are partnering with Datacap in this fundraising event. With a road-racing Litespeed bicycle mounted on an indoor “trainer” in the Datacap booth (#1137), there will be ongoing fundraising activities throughout the show.
Bicycle Therapy (www.bicycletherapy.com), one of Philadelphia’s leading bicycle retailers, is donating the bicycle.
In the spirit of competition, the funds raised will be shared between two health-oriented foundations created by professional cyclists. The distribution of donations between the two foundations will be decided by the sponsoring vendor whose rider posts the best time on the bike over a virtual “course” on the trainer in the Datacap booth.
To raise awareness of the foundations and the cycling competition, professional and elite amateur cyclists will be available in the Datacap booth during the show to answer questions about racing, equipment and cycling technique. They’ll be wearing a special custom cycling jersey, featuring all the participating sponsors’ logos.
AIIM attendees will be eligible to win a Litespeed racing bicycle by entering a raffle in the Datacap booth. Datacap will also give away Lance Armstrong LIVESTRONG bracelets to AIIM attendees, each of which represents a $1 donation to the Lance Armstrong Foundation.
