Datacap and Partners Raise Funds for Lance Armstrong and Tyler Hamilton Foundations at AIIM
"Enhance Your Cycle Time" racing challenge raises thousands of dollars
Tarrytown, NY – (June 8, 2005) - Datacap Inc. announced today that the “Enhance Your Cycle Time” Challenge at AIIM 2005 (May 17-19) in Philadelphia raised donations and awareness for the Lance Armstrong and Tyler Hamilton Foundations, two health-oriented foundations created by well known professional cyclists.
Datacap, a leading provider of data and document capture software, was joined in the effort by many of its key partners. They include Fujitsu, FileNet, Canon, Stellent, Böwe Bell + Howell, IBML, Hyland OnBase, Vignette, Kofax, and Océ.
Bicycle Therapy (www.bicycletherapy.com), one of Philadelphia’s leading bicycle retailers, provided a Litespeed titanium Siena racing cycle and a computerized trainer that simulated the conditions of a grueling one-mile race.
Results Of The Cycling Competition
The winner of the competition was not determined until the final moments of AIIM. Team Fujitsu, narrowly edged out Team FileNet by a mere 4 seconds.
The contest has raised thousands of dollars, with individual donations still coming in. Datacap is still offering a custom cycling jersey for anyone who makes a donation to either charity of $75 or more (while supplies last). Organizations and individuals can still contribute by visiting www.datacap.com/cycletime.
A share of the funds raised will be donated to the Lance Armstrong Foundation on behalf of Fujitsu; the remainder will be donated to the Tyler Hamilton Fund on behalf of FileNet. All participants received a custom cycling jersey, featuring the logos of all participants.
"'Enhance Your Cycle Time' was a great success for us at AIIM," said Scott Blau, Datacap CEO. "We generated a lot of awareness for two important foundations, conveyed our message of accelerating document processing with a cycling theme, and had fun at the same time."
