Good Works In Cancer Research And Support
Since its inception in 1997, the LAF has raised $181 million to support cancer survivorship programs and initiatives to make cancer a national priority. Some highlights:
-
LAF has awarded more than $20.3 million in research grants
-
LAF funding supported the basic and clinical research of testicular cancer and the creation of the Germ Cell Tumor and Tissue Bank Resource at the University of Southern California
-
LAF funds community-based participatory research (CBPR), through which community members and researchers collaborate in a mutual learning process to research and solve survivorship issues identified by the community
Give a Little To Make A Big Difference
It takes less than a minute to donate $10, $20 or $30 on the Cycle Faster pledge page and 100% will go to the Lance Armstrong Foundation. If we all just make a small contribution, we will meet our goal of raising $100,000 in 2008. If your heart is willing, your legs will follow.

What is "Cycle Faster?"
Cycle Faster is a program, now in its fourth
year, that brings together the leaders of the scanning, capture and ECM
industries to raise funds and awareness for worthy causes. Document processors
often refer to "increased Cycle Time" as a benefit of a scanning and capture
system. Datacap is leveraging the "cycle" theme with the healthy sport of
cycling to benefit the Lance Armstrong Foundation, among other organizations.
In
addition to providing a channel for donations and bringing together Datacap
partners to work together, Cycle Faster makes its presence felt at major ECM
events, like AIIM and ARMA, in the form of a one-mile virtual cycle race, where
sponsors and individual donors compete to have donations made in the name of their organization. The next event is AIIM in Boston, March 4-6, in the
Datacap booth, #2539. We hope to see you there! |
Appreciation from
Lance
"This program, and others like it, is a
model for corporate and individual cooperation and important to the success of
raising funds for cancer research and support. We appreciate what Datacap and its industry partners
are doing for the Foundation."
- Lance Armstrong, cancer survivor and Chairman Founder of the LAF.
